In 1915 the First Lord of the Admiralty, Winston Churchill, created a Landships Committee to tackle the problems of trench warfare. It proved that a vehicle encompassing armoured protection, an internal combustion engine, and tracks was a possibility for the battlefield. Rare exhibits are preserved for historical posterity. A number of the vehicles are demonstrated in action from time to time. It is where their experiences are appreciated through a extensive display that captures the imagination. The heroic actions of men and women can be appreciated from this Museum as you see some of the vehicles and equipment used to confront tyranny around the world. The Museum incorporates the Suffolk and Norfolk Yeomanry collection of uniforms, weapons, photographs and documents, as well as RAF Reconnaissance and Air Sea Rescue and Marine Craft exhibits Step inside the museum Then visit to see more Exhibits include artillery, machine guns and missiles in addition to a fine collection of ships and land warfare models. Most of its extensive range of tanks and armoured cars are maintained in working condition. It was opened to the public in 1988 and is one of the largest privately owned military Museum in the United Kingdom. The Muckleburgh Military Collection is sited on the former Royal Artillery Anti-Aircraft training camp at Weybourne on the North Norfolk coast.
